What Clothes to Bring

Dress for the weather. Wear clothing and footwear that is comfortable for your trip. We recommend wearing layers so you can be as warm or as cool as you need to be as well as bringing some additional items in case of rain or inclement weather.

What Gear to Bring

We provide all fishing gear, but if you want to bring your own rods, reels or tackle you are free to do so. We also recommend bringing a sack lunch or snacks while on the lake, a hat, sunglasses, bug spray and sunscreen.

Do I Need a Fishing License?

Yes – you’ll need a fishing license, unless you’re under the age of 16, born before 1927 or are a Wisconsin resident who is on break from active military duty. They are easy to get. You can apply online or find sales locations here. Vilas County also has plenty of shops well-stocked with bait and tackle.
